Most of the electronic equipment we have this time take advantage of the recently-invented microcontrollers and microprocessors. Microcontrollers are on the emphasis of self-sufficiency and cost-effectiveness. It is also referred as a microcontroller (or MCU) - a computer-on-a-chip.

Microcontroller integrates additional elements such as read-only as well as read-write memory, and input/output interfaces. Microcontrollers are often utilised in automatically controlled products and devices such as automobile engine control systems, office machines, appliances, power tools, and toys. The
microcontroller has all the computing system (I/O system and memory) built in it.
Designer’s judgment determines which one should be used.
